We are holding our eighth charity video game marathon; this time in support of Easter Seals Newfoundland and Labrador— www.eastersealsnl.ca/
All proceeds from the event support programs and services for children/youth with physical disabilities. We believe that every child should have the opportunity to pursue their passion and hobbies, and Easter Seals provides the opportunity to do that. Easter Seals is a community; a community of smiles and play, and we want to see that continue and to see the community strive.
From July 4th at 12:00 PM to July 7th at 8:00 PM, our team will be playing through the main game/story of 40 different video games, our most ambitious marathon yet! And for the first time since our first marathon, all the games we have picked have never been played at one of our previous marathons.
During the 80 hour marathon, you can do and see everything on our website. The video display will show two cameras, one of the game being played through and another showing the players themselves. That’s right, you can watch as we slowly become really tired, really silly, and all for a good cause. On top of that, you can interact with us via a text chat, which we can read out on the webcast and respond to your comments and support. Lastly, and most importantly, you can donate on our website as well. That’s right, you can do all this from the comfort of your own home. Just go to www.sandboxgaming.org/
Our goal is to raise $7500 for this wonderful cause for some fantastic kids. You can donate directly via this link--tinyurl.com/pjffwbd. If you wish to donate via another method, send us an email at sandboxgamingnl@gmail.com
You can also support the marathon in person by visiting us during public hours (Fri 12 - 8, Sat 10-8, Sun 10-8, Mon 10 - 8). The physical location of the marathon is at the Husky Energy Easter Seals House on 206 Mount Scio Road.
Lastly, we need your help to get the word out there. Be sure to click "invite friends" and invite all your friends to the Facebook event—remember, you can attend from your very own computer, and getting the word out there helps immensely.
Help us, help them. Bring a smile to a child’s face. Support the marathon and donate!
Our games list will be released one game per day, starting on May 19th. Check it out on the event page on Facebook, at www.facebook.com/events/706460696067079/
