How old were you when you first played video games? What game and system was it? How long after until you were hooked?
For me, I remember being three years old (1993) and my parents got divorced, and for some reason my mom still had my Dad's NES. And one day I was bored and she was like "hey, you're a smart kid. Trying playing this." So she hooked up the NES in my bedroom and put in Super Mario Bros 3. I ran into those goombas so much, and that's what hooked me. I was going to beat that goomba eventually. Quickly, I accumulated Dragon Warrior and Who Framed Roger Rabbit and played them a lot (to this date, I only beat two of three—I've never beat Who Framed Roger Rabbit, haha).
At this point in time, video games weren't at the critical mass of popularity that they are now, especially a three year old playing them. I remember friends of mine were shocked I was allowed to play video games, and some parents looked at my mother in horror for letting me play so early. It wasn't until I was 6 that I met someone else my age that gamed.

Aye, at the wee age of four I began to game. My older brother had a NES, but my true first game was Sonic the Hedgehog 2. My next door neighbour was always Tails and I was always Sonic, of course. I eventually upgraded to Sonic 3 and other Sonic games. And not long after I defected to Nintendo and the N64, but Sonic will always hold that special place in my heart...... *sigh*

I remember wanting so badly to rent a game for the weekend, but the store I used to go to "Goulds Video" had a very small selection. There was this strange game on the shelf that I'd never seen before, featuring a boy wearing an orange hat and a rucksack chasing a dog. It looked interesting so I tried it out. Little did I know, I'd be addicted to the Harvest Moon series for the rest of my life after that one glorious weekend. I'm also on the hunt for a copy of that game, and have been looking for just over 10 years now. Found it twice, but different circumstances kept me from buying it SOME DAY

Pretty sure was playing at an early age, like 3 or 4. Good old SNES (and I swear I remember a NES around that point somewhere). Eventually grew into Gameboy/Gameboy Color/Gameboy Advance/DS/3DS, and a N64/PS2/Wii. And whatever else I shall eventually get

My father came home with a NES. This was before my parents divorced, and I was so young that I didn't entirely understand what I was excited about. It was something new, and that was enough at the time. lol I would have been something like five or six. There was the original Mario/ Duck Hunt package, and I think Pac-Man. I was hooked the moment I realized I could control what was happening on the TV.

I don't recall the exact age but it was around when I was six. My mom bought me a Sega Genisis and the first game I remember playing on it was The Might Morphing Ranger movie game. It was a beat-em-up that I loved.

I was in the hospital with appendicitis. To keep me from being crazy bored, my mom bought me a Game Boy with tetris for being such a brave little kiddo. Still have that green screen wonder brick <3
