This thread is a place to discuss what games are being played right now by you, the forumgoer! Is it a new game, or an old one? How about platform; are you playing it on the Playstation 4? Xbox 360? Super Nintendo? Dreamcast? OUYA? Commodore 64? Game Gear? PC? Linux? Mobile phone? Arcade machine? Are you playing multiple games in an alternating fashion, or do you prefer to immerse yourself in one game at a time? Are you practicing for an upcoming video game marathon, or just playing for fun? Are you streaming live on Twitch.tv, or perhaps obtaining footage for a Let's Play on YouTube? Are you playing by yourself, or online, or with friends on the couch? Are you using mouse and keyboard, or a traditional controller, or a fightstick, or a Razer Hydra? Are you playing on a TV screen, or a computer monitor, or 3 computer monitors, or a handheld device, or with an Oculus Rift strapped to your head? How about the genre; is it a first-person shooter? Platformer? JRPG? Point-and-click adventure? Dating sim? Arcade? Procedurally-generated dungeon crawler? Why did you start playing - did it look fun, or maybe you felt a sense of obligation due to its reviews, or it was on sale for super cheap and you bought it on impulse and feel guilty just having it sit around unplayed, or maybe it's a game you've played over and over again for over 20 years and it just never gets old? Would you recommend it to anyone who likes video games, or maybe just people who like the genre, or might people not "get" it, or is it just plain unplayable and no one should go near it?
Feel free to choose all of these details, or some of them, or none of them, as you see fit. Let's talk about VIDEO GAMES!

Gunpoint is a stealth-based puzzle-platform video game created by indie developer Tom Francis. The game is set in the near future and sees players assume the role of freelance spy Richard Conway, who is tasked with infiltrating buildings to fulfil assignments from various clients. To do so, the player must avoid guards and bypass security features with the aid of a number of high-tech gadgets, such as the Crosslink tool which is used to rewire electrical circuits. Throughout the game, Conway seeks to clear his name in the murder of a high-profile weapons manufacturer, and gradually uncovers a murder mystery in his search for the real killer.
I feel like this game got overlooked last year, due to the popular, story-heavy, though-provoking games like Gone Home, Papers Please, and The Stanley Parable. It's a rather short game, but it's a fun and interesting concept that's a lot like the upcoming game Watch Dogs. I like to show off this game wherever I can, because not a lot of people know about it. Definitely check it out on Steam, and maybe grab it when it goes on sale. Alright, that's all I got.

Pokemon X
Warioware (GBA)

I'm silly and completely forgot to post my own! After a few weeks of setting up camp in the living room to focus on console games for awhile ( Epic Mickey, Super Punch Out!!, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, to name a few), I've returned to my office desk to focus on PC gaming for a little while. This past week, I've taken a second shot at Bastion, which, despite being hailed as one of the richest gaming experiences out there by reviewers, simply didn't hold my attention beyond a couple of levels when I first booted it up awhile ago. This time around, however, I'm playing with an Xbox 360 controller, which I find makes for a MUCH more rewarding, playable experience. I've also decided to give Fallout 3 a second attempt. Again, another critically acclaimed game that simply faltered when I attempted it some time ago. Sticking with the mouse and keyboard on this one, although I may flip back and forth a bit to find which I'm more comfortable with. Hopefully I can make my way past Megaton this time around! Started playing Valdis Story: Abyssal City last night. I LOVE a good metroidvania, and this game fits into that mashup genre very nicely. Controls are tight and responsive. Combat has a bit of a learning curve - you can just button mash to eventually brute-force your way through the game, but learning to combine the Skill Cancel and choose spells wisely on the fly makes for a much more rewarding combat experience. Still kind of early to tell for sure how much I'll enjoy it. Finally, I spent a couple of hours yesterday playing Momodora and Momodora II, a pair of short freeware action platformer games with an art style reminiscent of Cave Story. I'd played both games a few years ago, but decided to revisit them when I saw that a third title, Momodora III, was on Steam Greenlight. While the first is very basic in nature and lacks some polish in its gameplay, I find the second a very cohesive, if shorter experience. Both games are available to download for free at developer Bombservice's site. I highly recommend giving them a try, if you're into this sort of game.

Along with the typical roster, I picked up Bit.Trip Runner last night as part of the most recent Humble Weekly Deal, and it's a pretty fun game. Enraging at points, but it follows the same idea of Super Meat Boy where deaths aren't punished, but encourage the player to keep going.
I played through and beat Bastion again recently. Like Matt, the first time I played it, I lost interest pretty quickly. Out of the blue, I decided to try it out again, and got swept up by the narrative and charm of the characterization of the game. It may not be my favourite game ever, but it's in my top 30, I'd say.
As well, playing through Zelda games has recaptured my attention (like I could ever stay away for long). I've also been challenged by someone on one of my streams to beat Zelda II, which may have to happen. *shudder*

^ Oh that reminds me, I'm casually playing through The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. I've played it the past two nights before bed. What a great game so far.

Steve, is your keyboard stuck, or did you just type "Metal Gear" as though Snake had said it?

I just liked Matt's post! This forum has a like the post button. I am so pleased!
Also, I have never played a Metal Gear game yet and I am ashamed of that.

Yep, you got it Matt.
And John the Metal Gear Solid series is one of the greatest game series of all time. Although sometimes I like to pretend MGS4 never happened. Go play MGS1 for PS1, or even Twin Snakes for the Gamecube. A lot of purists hate TTS due to its changes but for the most part I think its a great game. The story can be a bit over the top but it's k.

Getting pretty addicted to Payday 2 on PC. Great Co-op play, and the steam users seem much more pleasant than the usual people I end up playing with. It was on sale the other day, might still be.

I've recently been addicted to Hearth Stone, but Pokemon Battle Trozei is amazing as well! Both are taking up most of my time at the moment.

As of now, playing Agarest Generations of War ( Or Record of Agarest War, depends on what your playing it on ) and got a good bit of time plugged into that. Other than that was mostly Fire Emblem Awakening the other day or anything else I have on the 3DS (X or Y mostly). And a bit of League of Legends on the side.

Fallout 3 is SO GOOD! Don't shy away from doing the side quests and exploring, because once you complete the main quests, the game is over, and you'll have to reload an older save. Afterwards, if you liked Fallout 3, then you should definitely pick up Fallout New Vegas. I personally prefer New Vegas to 3, but others like 3 more. I could go on for days about Fallout, but I'll let you finish the game first.
